11/2/12-11/4/12 Falling Creek Update

Friday, John made it out on a windy and chilly afternoon to help with the ending on the berm.  We got some top soil down to the landing and spread it around.  It was starting to blend in with the natural slope of the hill.  When we left it looked something like this.

Saturday morning I got up there at 11 and started moving more top soil down to work on the lip and landing some more.  Randy got there about an hour later and Jess came out not long after.  They went to get water and rock while I was moving dirt down the hill.  I was making the lip and filling the backside of it so people could roll it safely.  They brought back lots of water and some rock.  The berm got soaked and the lip came to shape.  When we got the lip watered we got the berm again and packed it in.  We let it dry a little bit, walked it in and slapped it with shovels.  When we got a good look at the lip, we decided to widen the landing a few feet.  After adding that on we were really itching to give it a try so we got it packed down some more and gave it a few runs!  Good fun.  Still really slow until it firms up.  We packed it in again before we left.

Sunday I didn't get out until noon, it was really nice out.  Jess was already there and apparently there was a group out there when he got there.  It had rained out there pretty good so there was decent moisture in the dirt.  This really being the last weekend day before daylight savings I went ahead and decided to get in something small.  I'm bummed the shorter days are here already.  I moved some dirt down to start the piles for two rollers.  Jess started shaping them up and about that time Randy got there.  We shaped it into what looked like two good rollers and began putting some tire tracks on it.  It was actually almost warm out when we started riding and it was fun.  I'm stoked to get a few more things in, it'll get even better.
